Green & Black’s Chocolate Founder
Along with her husband Craig Sams, Jo Fairley dreamt up the organic chocolate brand in her bedroom in 1991.
‘Green’, as it was organic and ‘Black’ because it was the darkest chocolate available on the market.
Adding the simple ‘&’ in the middle, made the new brand sound like a 100yr old brand.
After founding Green & Black’s with her husband Craig Sams, Jo Fairley built the brand into the world’s leading organic chocolate.
As a result of the brand’s success, in 2005, Cadbury purchased Green & Black’s for over £20m.
The Green & Black’s brand has grown into a $100 million worldwide brand.
Jo continues to champion the brand’s worldwide success.
The Perfume Society
Launched in 2014, the Perfume Society is an informational website and subscription organisation for perfume-lovers.
The business offers events, courses, sampling opportunities, ‘discovery boxes’ (like a wine society but for perfume) and a regular downloadable magazine, The Scented Letter.
The Beauty Bible
In 1996, Jo and her friend Sarah Stacey had their book ‘The Beauty Bible’ published. The book became a global bestseller, and now The Anti-Ageing Beauty Bible is the seventh title in the series.
Due to the success of the books, in 2001 www.beautybible.com was launched. With over 55,000 subscribers, the website provides the scoop on the latest goings-on in the world of scent, skin, make-up and all-round wellbeing.
