Greg Rutherford MBE is an Olympic Gold Medallist and former World and European Athletics Champion.
Born and bred in Milton Keynes, Greg first jumped into the limelight aged 18 when he won the senior long jump title at the AAA Championships.
Fast forward seven years, and Greg entered the London 2012 Olympics as the number 1 ranked long jumper in the world!
In front of an 80,000-strong crowd, Greg jumped 8.31m to take Olympic Gold.
It was the first time since 1964 that GB had won the long jump. Having led the competition, Greg improved throughout and marked his place in history on Super Saturday – Great Britain’s most successful day at the Olympic Games in 104 years.
In 2021 Greg joined the Eurosport team for the Tokyo Olympics coverage to talk trackside to those taking part and more.
Greg continued his sporting journey training for the Winter Olympics with Team GB’s bobsleigh team. He went on to host these Olympics for Discovery+ and Eurosport.
Getting his dancing shoes on, he appeared on BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Series 14. Greg has also appeared on BBC Two’s ‘The Pilgrimage’ and ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ winning the 2019 title! He also appeared on ‘Sink or Swim’ for Channel 4 in the same year.
