Peter Slack is a Derbyshire Dairy Farmer and Witty After-Dinner Speaker.
Peter is a 3rd generation hill farmer in the beautiful Peak District National Park. He farms dairy cattle and sheep with the help of his wife Sylvia, children Matthew, Lydia and Samuel, and his Border Collie Meg – It’s a typical family hill farm.
“You may never look at a Fordson Major Tractor the same way again!”
After joining the local young farmers club where he met Sylvia, Peter went on to win several speaking competitions within the National Young Farmers movement.
His talent for making people laugh was immediately recognised and he was invited to be guest speaker at a local dinner, and from there, a speaking career was born.
Through referrals and recommendations, Peter Slack has spoken to audiences from Stockton-on-Tees to Somerset, from village halls to The Great Hall at St John’s College Cambridge.
With Peter’s sharp observational humour and his ability to paint word pictures, he is able to bring the countryside and it’s characters hilariously to life.
Peter Slack has spoken to many luncheon clubs and Rotary Charter Dinners with other clients including Sheffield Law Society Annual Dinner, North Staffs RICS Annual Dinner and The British Equestrian Federation World Class Performers Dinner.
He was also engaged by Tarmac to be guest speaker at a celebratory luncheon where HRH The Princess Royal was to officially open a new £150 million cement plant.
Although not a celebrity after dinner speaker, his ability to interest and entertain an audience may make Peter Slack one of the best after-dinner speakers you’ve never heard of!
