Maisie Summers-Newton MBE is a British Paralympic swimmer who competes in the SB6, SM6, and S6 disability categories.

Early Life and Background:
Maisie Summers-Newton started swimming at a young age, but it wasn’t until she watched her idol, Ellie Simmonds, at the 2012 London Paralympic Games that she realised her potential in competitive swimming.
Inspired by Simmonds’ achievements, Maisie began training with the Northampton Swimming Club, refining her technique and working hard to reach the top levels of para-swimming.

Breakthrough in 2018
Maisie’s first significant breakthrough came in 2018 when she entered the European Para Swimming Championships in Dublin.
She won three gold medals at just 16 years old, solidifying her place as a rising star. She took gold in the 200m individual medley SM6, beating her idol Ellie Simmonds, gold in the 100m breaststroke SB6 and gold in the 4x100m medley relay. Her performance was particularly notable as she set a new world record in the 200m individual medley.
2019 World Para Swimming Championships
The 2019 World Para Swimming Championships in London was another significant milestone for Summers-Newton.
